So we began asking questions. We sat with Anna, listened to her stories, and gave her space to remember, reflect, and share her life in her own words.
This memoir is a way of holding onto those moments while they are still here: preserving not only the stories she tells, but also, the sound of her voice, they way she remembers, and the meaning behind all the experiences that made her who she is.

About Anna
Born in Mexico and brought to the United States as a young girl, Anna's life journey is one of extraordinary resilience. Raised during a time when women were expected to endure hardship in silence, she navigated poverty, family trauma, cultural displacement, abuse, and loss while carrying the responsibilities of motherhood at a young age.
Yet this is not a story about suffering. It is a story about survival.
It is about a young immigrant girl learning a new language and adapting to a new country while preserving the traditions that shaped her. It is about a woman who repeatedly found the strength to begin again. Through broken relationships, difficult family dynamics, grief, and countless obstacles.
